The teachers
Yarraville yoga
teachers Amanda Hood, Heather Kitchen, Juanita Brokas, Paula
Casciola and Peter Harley are qualified Iyengar
teachers with more than 45 years yoga experience between them.
Amanda
Hood Amanda
Hood began practicing Iyengar Yoga in 1990 and teaching in 1997.
She has prior qualifications in
Performing Arts, and is currently studying for a degree in Exercise
Science (Human Movement).
Heather
Kitchen Heather
Kitchen was drawn to yoga out of
instinct and curiosity. Within the first few months of attending
classes she felt the profound capacity of yoga to create
positive
and
lasting change to ones mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Now
in teaching yoga, she encourages others to experience the benefits.
Heather is also a practicing massage therapist.
Peter Harley has been an engineer, conservatonist
and school teacher. He now teaches yoga and designs yoga equipment.
Peter
is a qualified Iyengar Yoga teacher.
Juanita
Brokas Juanita
began Iyengar Yoga in her 20's to help with a lower back injury
from a car accident, and found it was
the only thing that seemed to help. Later, as a Shiatsu Therapist,
Juanita found herself directing her clients to yoga so they could
gain awareness within the body and mind, gain strength and
flexibility of the muscles, and a sense of calm that aided the
release of muscular and mental stress. Juanita hopes to give her
students the tools to help themselves physically and mentally,
with whatever life presents.
Paula
Casciola started practicing yoga in 1991 and has been teaching
consistently since 1999. She continues her study and
exploration of yoga and finds inspiration for her practice and
teaching in everyday life.
